~ Day Light Savings Time Sucks ~
... so can anyone explain to me why Day Light Savings Time even exists?
... is it fun to be all like "hey, lets make a pathetic attempt to alter nature in mass"? .... I quasi remember from elementary school it having something to do with farming .... and farms needing daylight redistribution ... and if that's the case ( that is if I'm not completely remembering wrong ) ... then why do all of us have to suffer? why can't the farmers just get up an hour early?
.... grrr ... I happen to be the kind of person who likes to wake up to sunshine ... which is why in the dead of winter waking up at 6am ( which I have to do Sundays ) is excruciating for me ... and now ... now when the sun is starting to come up nicely around the time I'm just regaining consciousness at 6am and facilitating my waking up process ... Day Light Savings time has to come and steal my sunshine ....
... call me a traditionalist ... but I like sunshine in the mornings .... now Day Light Savings time has shot us back to a seeming dead of winter sunrise sunset pattern ..
.
... and don't even get me started on the lost hour of sleep ... its bad enough the federal government is stealing money out of my paycheck without them stealing an hour of my precious sleep ... seriously, that has bothered me ever since I was a kid .... stealing an hour of sleep indicates that federal government is up way too far in my business ( maybe I'm blaming the feds unfairly since I'm not really sure where the whole Day Light Savings Time thing came from ) ...
.... I spent all of yesterday falling asleep on my feet because of the evil that is Day Light Savings Time ...
*** Quick Note on Federal Funding for Stem Cell Research:
.... the debate over this really seems stupid when one is drowsy .... seriously ...
... somehow a scientific issue has become a moral issue ... and that irritates the hell out of me .... the morality of stem cell research is a cornerstone debate in intellectual void that is pop politics .... YOUR PERSONAL OPINION ON THE MORAL VALIDITY OF STEM CELL RESEARCH IS OVERRULED BY MORE PRESSING QUESTIONS NEITHER SIDE HAS PROVIDED AN ADEQUATE ANSWER FOR ... First, are the findings of current research on stem cells promising enough to even warrant federal funding? and, if this is the case, why has this research seemingly failed to receive any sort of private funding? ... Second, can the federal government really afford to waste our money in such a fashion should this research on stem cells be a complete flop? THESE ARE THE ISSUES THAT THE DEBATE ON STEM CELLS SHOULD FOCUS ON ... the pop politics debate is just fluff to get people's emotions worked up so they retain the notion that they are politically savvy and do indeed have their own pet political issue ...
... what I found funny is that with signing the executive order to expand federal funding of stem cell research came the promise that no scientific data will be skewed for political purposes .... while the need for such a promise makes me suspicious, it just seems kinda naive to me ... some of the most blatant skewing of data occurs when there are fat federal grants just waiting to be scooped up ... so yeah, data may not be skewed for political purposes but it may be skewed for financial ones .... oh well ...
